Positive Behaviour Support
Empowering positive change through understanding, support, and person-centred strategies
Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services are designed to help participants improve their quality of life, build independence, and reduce behaviours of concern through evidence-based and compassionate support.
We work closely with participants, families, carers, and support teams to create practical strategies that are respectful, meaningful, and tailored to individual needs.
What is Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Positive Behaviour Support is a person-centred approach that focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviours of concern and developing proactive strategies to support positive outcomes. Our experienced PBS practitioners take the time to understand each participant’s strengths, environment, communication style, and goals to create supports that are practical and sustainable.
Positive Behaviour Support Includes:
Understanding behaviours of concern and identifying the underlying causes, triggers, and unmet needs behind behaviours.
Developing personalised Behaviour Support Plans tailored to the participant’s goals, strengths, communication style, and daily environment.
Working collaboratively with families, carers, schools, support workers, and allied health professionals to ensure consistent and effective support strategies.
Building positive skills and independence by supporting emotional regulation, communication, social interaction, and daily living skills.
Providing strategies to reduce behaviours of concern using evidence-based, person-centred, and least restrictive approaches.
Monitoring progress and reviewing strategies regularly to ensure supports remain effective, practical, and aligned with the participant’s evolving needs and goals.
